Vintage Style

As thousands of beautifully dressed visitors hit the dancefloor for a weekend of vintage fun you’ll come across all kinds of fashions, from 1940s land girls and sharply suited gents, to denim clad Rock 'n' Rollers and cool 60s-style couples. If you'd like to join in the fun of dressing vintage, but need a little help with your outfit, don’t worry - read on for some handy tips and advice to help you to create and easy and aauthentic vintage outfit for your visit.

1920s & 30s Fashion, Decadence and Elegance

The most iconic look of the 1920s for women is the Flapper girl with her sharply bobbed hair and short beaded dresses. However, the 1930s favoured fluffy, waved hairstyles and long bias cut dresses in luxurious fabrics. For men the look was smart and can be easily re-created with a white shirt and tailored trousers.

1940s Fashion, Simple Yet Stylish

Women’s fashions of the time favoured a simple tea dress or a skirt suit. You can accessorize your suit with a faux fur stole and felt hat for an easy look. 3-piece suits were fashionable for men along with the trilby hat - or you can try a more casual, shirt and knitted sleeveless jumper look.

1950s Fashion, Chic Silhouettes

From the full skirts over layers of petticoat to the figure-hugging wiggle dress, the 1950s has a lot of fun styles to inspire you. Why not try a bright summer dress or go for a more casual vintage denim look with rolled up jeans and t-shirt, add a headscarf in the hair for a splash of colour. Men can opt for a suit, or go casual in denim and a bold shirt.

1960s Fashion, Bold and Daring

Ladies fashion in the early 60s was classic, so you may be inspired by the pastel suits worn by Jackie O. You can also look to the fashions of Carnaby Street and try a bold geometric print dress or bright dress and tights combo a la Mary Quant! Men could go for The Beatles style slim fit suit or a bold print shirt.
