Keith Hill is perhaps best known for his ‘8th Air Force Collection’ - 61 paintings depicting each of the U.S. 8th Air Force combat units stationed in England during WWII.
The paintings are on permanent loan to the prestigious 8th Air Force Heritage Museum in Savannah and copies are displayed in the ‘Eagle Hangar’ Oshkosh, Wisconsin. For his work on these paintings and helping to ‘perpetuate the memory of the 8th Air Force’ he was, in 1989, appointed Official Artist to the

United States 8th Air Force Memorial Museum foundation. In 1991 he was invited to hold a one-man exhibition at the 8th Air Force reunion in Las Vegas. In 1995 Keith was greatly Honoured by being commissioned, by the US Air Force, to paint the incidents for which the only five Medal of Honor awards have been made, to enlisted airmen, in the history of the Air Force. He was also commissioned to paint the entire history of the 20th Tactical Fighter Wing. His work hangs in many RAF and USAF establishments throughout the world, including The Pentagon, and has been used on numerous book covers and magazines. Four of his paintings are included in Roger Freeman’s book ‘The Mighty Eighth in Art’.

Through Keith Hill Studios he has published over 40 open and limited edition prints. In March 2000 Keith was commissioned by The Daily Mail to produce a painting of a Spitfire. The painting was reproduced as a limited edition print and was completely sold out in just 20 hours, raising £20,000 towards the Battle of Britain Memorial to be built on the Thames Embankment

Although his work is mainly aviation oriented his railway, maritime and military art is also in high demand as are his illustrated talks/lectures about his work.

As appreciation for his continuing devotion to preserving the history and heritage of the 303rd Bomb Group through his series of paintings, he was, in September 2000, made an Honorary Member of the 303rd Bomb Group Association.

A room on the ground floor of the Control Tower is completely dedicated to Keith Hill, and a superb gallery of some of his best works is on display
